The Microgeneration SAP module uses the BRE approved SAP calculation engine with a simplified user interface to generate a feed in tariff calculation, payback period table and reports to allow the comparison of different types of system. Please see the example calculation page which shows the steps to produce a photovoltaic calculation together with a quotation document. The MCS SAP module covers the following accreditations.

Feed in tariff calculation

The feed in tariff is calculated based upon a number of parameters including projected retail price inflation, energy cost inflation, electricity exported percentage, FIT rate and VAT. All of these parameters are customisable to make sure you can give the best estimate to your customer. The software calculates the energy produced in accordance with the sap specification and applies the parameters to calculate the payback period for the technology. This can be displayed on screen or included in a quotation.

New build or existing dwellings

The software is BRE approved for SAP calculations on new dwellings or existing properties. Therefore if you are an MCS registered installer you can produce compliant calculations for new build projects as well as retrofit existing houses
